What it shows
The dashboard summarises the portfolio you have permission to see. Someone scoped to two buildings sees those two buildings, not the whole account.

When a figure looks wrong
Check the approval queue
Draft invoices and unapproved receipts are excluded. This explains most "too low" totals.
Check your building scope
You are seeing your buildings, not everyone's. See Users.
Open the matching report
Reports show the rows behind the total. Do not recount by hand.
