How commission is recorded
Go to Finance → Commissions. A commission is tied to the deal that earned it — a signed lease or a confirmed booking — and to the person or partner earning it. That link is what lets you see the real margin on a room rather than rent minus running costs.
Paying it out
Payment is recorded as an expense against the commission, through a payment account and a transaction type, so it lands in cash flow and profit and loss like any other cost.
Record the commission when the deal is signed, not when it is paid. A commission owed but unpaid is still a cost of that month.
When a deal falls through
If a lease is cancelled before it starts or a booking is refunded, reverse the commission rather than deleting it. The record of what was earned and then unwound is what makes a commission report defensible.
