Run the report
Open it
Go to Reports → Financial reports → Cash flow.
Choose the period and scope
A full month or quarter, and the buildings you want included.
Group by transaction type
This is where the list becomes a story instead of a ledger.
What it includes
Approved income and expenses in the period, grouped by transaction type and payment account.
It answers what moved, not what was earned. An invoice raised but unpaid appears only when the money arrives.
Cash flow is not profit
| Cash flow | Profit and loss |
|---|---|
| When money moved | When it was earned or incurred |
| Deposits taken appear as money in | Deposits are a liability, not income |
| A year paid up front lands in one month | Spread across the months it covers |
A month can be cash-positive and loss-making at the same time. Use Profit and loss to judge whether a building works.
